Here we will explain how to work with comments on posts in the Newsfeed and describe the ways to interact with them

Comments are an additional component of each post in the Newsfeed. Using them, you can quickly respond to publications and the discussion of important issues directly in the Workspace.

Under the post, there is the total number of comments that are currently available.

To leave a new comment, use the text field at the bottom or just click Comment. You will be automatically redirected below, right to that field.

You can also use the Reply button.

In the first case, a new comment will be added to the general list of comments.

In the second case, a separate thread will be created.

The comment creation form looks as follows ⬇️

1 – A text input field with a built-in advanced editor for formatting.

2 – An option to attach files to the comment.

3 – Action buttons for sending or canceling.

Each comment is a separate mini block. After adding it, it is available for interaction. If it is your comment, you can:

1 – Reply.

2 – React to it with an emoji.

3 – Copy the link, pin, edit, or delete it.

For a comment made by another user, you can:

1 – Reply.

2 – React to it with an emoji.

3 – Copy the link or pin it.

Thus, the basic ways to interact with comments are:

🟣 Reply using the Reply button, as described above ⬆️

🟣 Add reactions with emojis.

🟣 Copy the link – if you later paste it into the browser's address bar, the post will open exactly where the comment was left. It will also highlight to attract additional attention.

🟣 Edit and delete.

Additional features

In addition to these basic actions, there are two more features that will make working with comments even more convenient.

Pinning comments

To ensure important information or decisions made during the discussion don’t get lost in the general flow, you can pin specific comments. To do this, select the corresponding option in the interaction menu.

As a result, the comment will be added to a special section at the top.

Clicking on it, you will be redirected to the place in the discussion where it was left. The pinned comment will also highlight to attract additional attention.

If more than one comment is pinned, you’ll see the exact number. To expand and view them all, click the button in the left corner of the overall comment block.

Additionally, when a comment is pinned, it will have a special marker 📌.

At any time, you can Unpin a comment. To do this, use the corresponding option in the interaction menu.

As a result, the comment will be removed from the pinned section at the top of the block and will lose the marker 📌.

Search in comments

You can use the search feature by clicking the corresponding button 🔍.

There’s no need to read through all the comments to find the one you need. Just enter a keyword or part of it in the search bar. The results will be highlighted, and you will also see the total number of comments containing your search query.

🌟Note: Both the comment search and pinning features are only available on commercial plans.
