Here, we will explain how to create your custom fields and how to add them to the profile for users to fill out

In a user profile, you can use not only the predefined fields but also add your custom ones. That is, if you lack the field, just create your own! Then, you and your colleagues can use it in the profiles to share important information for your workflow.

Where to create and configure fields?

❗️Only administrators and the Space owner have access to create and configure custom fields.

This can be done on the Settings page – SectionsSection settings. In the Company and People tab, expand the Profile block.

Or, even easier, just go to the profile page. Switch to edit mode for any of the blocks.

How to create and configure the field?

It doesn’t matter whether you add a new field via the settings page or directly in the profile, you need to click the button to create a new field.

A creation form will open. First, make sure to give the field a title.

You can change the ID. This parameter is automatically filled by the system — transliterated to Latin letters. However, you can specify your own value.

❗️Note that the ID must contain only Latin letters.

Next, come up with a Hint text. This is a helper phrase that will guide the user when filling out the field in their profile.

💡This is what it will look like in the end.

If you don’t specify your own hint text, the system will automatically insert the default: Enter value N (where N is the field name).

Next, select the Field type from the list.

❗️Please note! After creation, the field type CANNOT be changed.

💡 For profiles, there’s almost the same list of field types as for CRM. The Binding to entity type is the only one not available (it cannot be selected from the list).

Also, decide on which of the three profile blocks you want to add the field to.

💡If you happen to create the field in the wrong block, just specify the correct one.

Finally, specify whether the field should allow multiple values (if multiple values can be selected) or not.

💡For convenience, multiple fields are marked with a special symbol.

Once all parameters are set, click Save.

As a result, the field will be attached to the block you selected. If it is empty, it will only be visible in edit mode for the block.

If you fill out the field at once, it will appear in the profile.

Additionally, the created field will be saved in the list of custom fields on the Settings page.

If needed, you can go back and change the field parameters at any time.

You can edit the title, hint text, or select a different block for the field.

💡You can also do this via the block edit window on the profile page.

If needed, it’s possible to duplicate the field.

The duplicate will immediately appear in the list with a copy label.

Unlike standard fields, custom fields can be deleted. Just click the trash can icon, and the field will disappear from the list.
