At Uspacy, each user can set personal Settings in the space, and also change them at any time.
In order to do this, you need to click on the functional tab of the same name in the profile. After that, the corresponding block will be displayed with certain parameters for setting.
What do the personal user settings include?
In the profile, personal settings are divided into two blocks. These are called Main user settings and Appearance settings.
💡 The second block will be missing if there is a ban on individual changes to the appearance in the general space settings.
Main user settings
They include the selection of the name display, date, time and language parameters.
This block contains the following fields:
1. Name format - you can select the order in which to display the user's personal data. Four options are available.
2. Default language - you can select the desired interface language. Ukrainian, English, Portuguese, Polish and Spanish are currently available.
3. Time format - you can select a convenient time display method - with or without dividing the day into two 12-hour intervals. So finish work "at 06:00 PM" or "at 18:00"?
4. Date format - you can select one of 25 possible combinations of displaying the number, month and year.
5. Time zone is quite a convenient setting if company employees or the project team work remotely and live in different countries. Everyone selects their own local time.
💡 The field also has a built-in search. This will make it easier to find the right region for the correct time.
6. The first day of the week - you can select whether Monday or Sunday will be the beginning of a new calendar week.
Appearance settings
They include the choice of color, design and theme of the Space.
This block contains the following fields:
1. Accents color - you can select from the palette. It will color the buttons and some other interface details of the whole Space.
2. Design - you can select as a background and various blocks in the space will look together.
Only standard one is currently available. With the help of it, the background and parts of the workspace are separated from each other by variations of light colors.
3. Space theme - you can select a general color solution for the background and all parts of the workspace. Currently, only Light one is available.
How to save settings?
At the bottom, under the blocks of personal settings, there is an Apply changes button. After the editing, do not forget to click on it.
Only after that, the changes will take effect.
💡 Edited and saved parameters in profiles are applied only to specific users and have a higher priority than similar ones in the general settings of the Space.
How do the Space settings affect the personal ones in the profile?
When the user goes to the settings in his/her profile for the first time, all the fields there have system values, that is, those that are provided by the current general settings of the space.
But after the user makes changes and saves them in his/her personal settings, the values of the edited fields will no longer match the system values and will not be followed in the future. As a result, the new set parameters will take effect and have priority.
And the general space settings will continue to apply to the fields that were not edited by the user. Their values will follow the changed system parameters in the future.
It can work in such a way.
If the administrator or space owner changes in the general settings, for example, display of the default date format, then after saving these changes:
for users who edited this field in their profile and specified a value different from the system one, their personal choice will be saved;
for users who did not edit this field in their profile, but left its system value, the current selection from the general space settings will be automatically "pulled up".
