If there is a need to work with several elements of a smart entity at the same time, mass actions will come in handy.
How does it work?
First, mark the required entity elements.
To select all elements on the page, click on the flag in the table header.
Their maximum number can be 100, and the minimum - 5. It depends on how many rows are displayed on the page at the same time.
To cancel your selection, just click on the minus in the table header.
Then select what you want to do. Two options for mass actions are available:
Edit.
Delete.
About each of these actions below.
Mass editing
To edit the elements of a smart entity, click the pencil icon.
As a result, a window will open where you can select the fields in which it is possible to make changes.
Mass editing is a set of certain available options. Their list varies and depends on the type of field. The system provides the following:
Without changes
It is available for selection for all fields, both standard and custom fields of various types. It means that no changes were made.
💡 This option is used as standard, that is, its value will be used immediately when the editing window is opened for all fields.
Replace the value
The option is available for all standard fields as well as all custom field types except Checkbox.
It means that the previous value of the field is completely cleared, instead of the new one specified during mass editing.
💡If the field is multiple, then click Add to enter several required values.
Clear the value
The option is not available for standard fields as they are required. Therefore, it will NOT be possible to clear the value for Title and Person responsible fields.
But It is available for all custom field types except the Checkbox.
It means that the field is cleared completely. Its values are removed from the element cards.
💡Note that this option clears the field value, even if it is multiple.
Fill in the value
The option is available for text fields. For example, for the standard Title as well as for custom fields of the Text type.
It means that something common will be added to the existing values before or after (optional). It will be entered through a space to the current names or from a new line for text fields
Add an element
This option is available for custom fields that are multiple.
It means that one value will be added to the existing values while editing.
💡As the field is multiple, you can click Add to enter several required values at once.
Or just select them from the list.
Turn on/ Turn off
This option is available for a custom field of type Checkbox.
It means that the option Turn on - puts a checkmark, and Turn off - removes it.
Math operation
It is available for custom fields such as Money, Number, Number with a fractional part.
It means addition or subtraction, division or multiplication will be applied to the existing field value.
💡After applying a math operation, the final number will always be rounded. Even if you use this operation for the field Number with a fractional part.
Applying changes
When the desired changes are made, they must be saved. To do this, click on the corresponding button at the bottom of the editing window.
And confirm your actions.
As a result, all the changes you made will be applied to the selected elements at the same time.
❗️Pay attention
If your custom entity is Available for all, then users are not restricted from working with its elements. That is, everyone can use the mass editing option.
Mass deletion
To delete the selected elements of a smart object, click on the trash bin icon.
And confirm your actions.
As a result, elements of a smart object will be removed from the system and it will not be possible to restore them.
❗️Pay attention
If your custom entity is Available for all, then users are not restricted from working with its elements. That is, everyone can use the mass deletion option.
