Two-factor authentication (OTP) is one of the components of additional protection and security of the Uspacy user account.

🌟 This option is only available with commercial plans.

You can read more about the possibilities of all plans on the following pages COM|EU|COM.BR

It can be enabled on your own will, or it is an obligatory safety requirement for all employees of the space.

Why should you enable it?

Two-factor authentication provides more reliable protection for your account. To login to your account , you need not only a password, but also a confirmation code, which is generated by a special application.

This application is a mobile authenticator, an application on your mobile that allows you to create one-time passwords for logging into your particular Workspace profile. They have a short period of validity. If you did not have time to enter the one-time password within a certain time (usually it is one minute), then the code would not be accepted and you would need to generate it again.

Mobile authenticators are Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator applications.

How to enable two-factor authentication

You can enable two-factor authentication in the user profile in the Security tab and you need to follow several obligatory steps.

Step 1. OTP activation.

You can do this in the Two-step verification block when logging in. So, to activate the OTP, you need to click on the toggle button.

Step 2. Applications

A window will open, which will contain a recommendation to install one of the recommended special applications for scanning QR codes on the phone.

It works on: iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad on iOS 5.0 and later. And also on Android version 4.4 and newer.

Step 3. Connecting the mobile device to the account

1. After installing the applications, in the same window, you need to click on Scan QR code.

If you work with Google Authenticator

Open the installed and ready-to-run application and press the Start button.

You can connect a mobile device to your space account in two ways:

The first is QR code scanning.

To do this, you need to select Scan QR code in the application and scan the QR code that will be displayed on your profile on the form to enable two-factor authentication.

Do not show or share the QR code with anyone.

Then you can go to step 4.

The second is to enter the code manually.

If you have any problems with the camera or cannot scan the code, you can enter it manually. To do this, you need to select Enter the configuration key in the application and fill out the fields that appear:

  • account name – the name by which you will identify the account for which you need to generate a code;

  • your key to enter a special code from the enable two-factor authentication window:

  • key type is a time-based option.

Save the entered data in the application using the Add button.

Do not show or share the setup key with anyone.

Store your secret key in a safe place so that if you lose access to the authenticator (in case of losing your phone or deleting the app by accident), you can recover it yourself.

Then you can go to step 4.

If you're using Microsoft Authenticator

Open the installed and ready-to-use application and click on the Add account button and specify the type of account.

You can link a mobile device to your space account in two ways:

The first is QR code scanning.

If you add a Personal account, a Work account, or a Study account, you must select the Scan QR code item in the menu that opens when you click on the account type. You also need to give the app access to the camera.

If you add another account, the scan window will open automatically. You just need to give the app access to the camera.

So, next you need to scan the QR code that will be shown in your profile on the form to enable two-factor authentication:

Then you can go to step 4 ⬇️

Step 4. Entering the code

Enter the special code generated by the application in the corresponding field.

Make sure that the generated code is correct and click Confirm.

You must click the Confirm button within the time that counts down in the application next to the code to be entered. If the time is over, you need to enter a new code generated by the application.
