Editing a group. How to change its type, department staff, name or image?

In this article, we will tell you how to go to the editing mode, enter the current information about the group and save it

Editing is a useful option that is also available for groups at Uspacy. It allows you to make changes to already existing data, for example, to specify a different type of group, a new owner, or simply upload another image.

❗️Please note that the owner or moderator of the group can edit the group.

So, you can go to the editing mode in several ways. The first is the Space groups page where you select the desired group and click on the appropriate item in the interaction menu.

The second way is through the interaction menu directly on the page of a specific group.

The third one is through the group information viewing mode.

After that, the editing window opens. It is identical to the group creating window.

So, in the General information block you can:

  • change the name;

  • write another description or leave this field empty;

  • upload a new image or delete an existing one.

❗️Please note that the name is a required field, so you cannot delete the old one and not specify the new one.

It is also possible to change a color theme for the group. If you activate this button, you'll be able to:

  • select a new background color and icons;

  • change the group icon (only if no image is uploaded for the group);

  • enable or disable pattern – the background image of the main block.

💡Also, you can disable these color theme settings at all. To do this, just deactivate the toggle button.

In the Department staff block you can:

  • assign a new owner;

  • add another moderator or specify a new one and delete already existing;

  • add or delete group members.

❗️Please note that the group must have an owner, so you cannot delete the existing one and not assign a new one.

After making all the changes, click the Save button.

As a result, the group will display current data about it.
