Here we will talk about what options are available to users for working in Space groups, as well as how to interact and manage them

Group... If you look up this word in dictionaries, you can find that it is a certain group that is united by a common goal, idea, work, and so on.

So what is a Group at Uspacy? This is a certain number of Space users who are united by a common goal (for example, to develop a new site design), an idea (for example, cheer each other up and exchange funny memes), work (for example, the design department and all its projects).

So, a group is a certain tool of interaction with colleagues that is used for joint work or to unite by interests.

Space groups page

To get started, expand the Company and People section and select Groups. A page will open with all the groups you have access to.

If there are no groups in your Space yet, the groups page will look like this. This will contain a recommendation to use this tool and to create the first group.

On the groups page, you can select the way to display the groups. Two types are available. They are cards or a list.

The list of groups looks like a table consisting of rows and columns. The row is each individual group. The column is a component that characterizes the group, for example, its name, type, owner, number it gets in the process of creating, etc.

You can configure the display of these characteristics in the list. To do this, you need to click on the gear and activate or deactivate the desired ones in the list. Only the Name is required, it is not possible to disable the display of the name. All other characteristics can be either hidden or, on the contrary, displayed.

Using cards mode, you can see that each group is a separate block that is filled with certain information about it. It consists of the image of the group, its name, the number of members and a description.

💡 In addition, there is a special mark that identifies its type. It is next to the image of the group.

To start working in a specific group, you need to open it. If you are not a member of the group, you need to join it first. You can join public groups at once. To join the private ones you need to send a request. And to join secret groups an invitation is needed.

How to interact and manage groups

Each group has its own interaction menu. To call it, click three dots.

The owner has the widest range of interaction opportunities ⬆️

The moderator comes second. Unlike the owner, the moderator cannot delete the group itself.

Ordinary members can only Open the group or Leave the group.

The owner and moderator of the group have the possibility to manage it. They can:

  • Edit the group, i.e. change its members, type and general information.

  • Quickly invite (add) new members without going to group editing mode.

  • Delete the group, that is, completely remove all data about it from your Workspace.

How users work in groups

All people, who are related to the group, can go to it and start working there at any time.

They can message to the chat if it is created for this group or create it.

And also write posts in the group and create tasks.
